H&K have plans to put out a their model of AR-15: the HK416 and HK417
Differences: obviously the price will be enough to make your balls shrivel up, retreat back into your stomach, and will make you start spitting up blood.

They have made a custom upper reciever to prevent it from being used on other ARs.

Thoughts?

I believe that's the same weapon that was on a Youtube video a while back, comparing it to the American AR's. IIRC they (the Germans) made is seem like it was superior.

Awesome. As you know, i am a huge H&K fan, and this looks like it will be great.
I do wish they made a non b**** civilian version of the G-36 however.
The SL-8 isnt even half as good.

Updated the civilian arms page on H&K site... http://hk-usa.com/rifles.html

They ****ed up AGAIN

WHy In gods name would you introduce an AR Upper that isnt compatible w/ others.

Sure if they figure they are gonna get a lot of business for a proprietary weapon, but they just missed out on millions of sale just for uppers for people who dont need/want an HK marked lower but wanted their Piston OS

They just sent a lot of Piston Business to POF and DSA...stupid

Yeah, H&K has an ego the size of a small planet, and thinks that they can do whatever they want w/o financial consequences. 1/2 right.
It is good that they have started selling directly to civilians again, but they will still turn a profit if they have agreements with certain LE agencies/ PDs

The difference is the LE agencies get the real HK416 not this bastardized altered non standard one:1106:

I love HK, but the idiot behind the curtains is...well, an idiot!

Strikeforce... stop bending over for H&K, please.

American made, man, American made. Ruger, Remington, Winchester... plentiful, cheap, parts are available, made out of Walnut and Steel not f'ing aluminum and plastic.

PLUS we're talking 7mm Mag, .30-06, .243, .308 Winchester... not frikkin' 5.56mm

^ That H&K AR15 is made in NH, about 2 hours away from my house. Sig pistols are made in NH too. Lot's of guns are manufactured in my state.

I worked at Ruger... saw a lot of cool things.

Either way, I'm not really a big fan of their ideas. A lot of their products seem a bit overpriced too. my 2¢

you're right... i meant the old American companies, traditional style stuff... i love Mini-14's, Remington 7400's, Winchester 94's, etc.

Again, I grew up on H&K. It is what i know. I am not saying that i dislike the American manufacturers, quite the opposite. I loved my Win 70, but i am also a fan of H&K, which I cannot buy. I am fairly excited when i hear that H&K is selling to civilians again.
It seems to me that of the two of us, you should love H&K alot more than I with all your talk of the Fatherland.

and again, f***ing Eagle at my funeral.

H und K just piss me of. their guns may be good, but i'm an American. I was raised on John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. My Winchester is my go-to gun. You ever fire a 94? Wonderful experience.

plus... you know i love givin' you crap ;)

I have fired a 94, and do agree that it is an amazing gun.
For some reason, i am drawn to the things that I know i can't posess, such as an M-249, H&K G-36, one of those streetsweepers, a legitimate knife-wrench, a Honda that doesnt suck, and a spaceship.
(notice that I didn't mention Sarah on that list...)

LOL yeah, the G36 is interesting for sure, but unless you're kicking down doors ATF-style, what's the purpose? I'd rather have a Remington 7400 with a scope. And Honda bikes from the 60's and 70's are incredible vehicles, i'll be the first to admit it. Almost bought a '68 Honda motorcycle a couple of years ago. Gorgeous bike.

knife-wrench... LOL

ETA: you have to remember John, i'm from Northern Michigan, all we use are military surplus guns and old American classics. 1911's and Ruger Blackhawks, man. I'm used to seeing garages with 2 Harleys, a confederate flag on the wall, and a gun rack full of Mauser's, Krags, and Winchesters.

If the Bad guys ever get close enough your gonna want more than a scoped bolt gun, in Close Combat Id own your *** w/ an AR over your scoped Bolt gun, they are long, slow to fire, hard to aim up close(unless they have irons) and suck for close fighting.

They have their purpose and that why I have some old Bolt Guns too but theres plenty of reason for more than old lever guns and Scoped bolts etc;

Now geography can also dictate what you need and Im in a built up area so I have little need for a long range scoped rifle, everything heres at most a 100yd shot etc

Though I do need to get a Scoped Bolt Gun or Semi-Auto in a bigger caliber

close combat? Depends on who sees who first. I grew up in the woods, bro, i don't scare easy and i take my time doing my thing.

Its all personal preference, anyone could be killed by a dude with a 10/22, Mini-14, SKS, double-barreled 12 gauge... hell, you can get it from a compound bow, man. Its all about knowing your weapon and being damn good with it.

You made a reference to seeing Harleys and Winchester in Garages in Michigan, Thought I'd spin that one around.
Guess it was a little too obscure. Screw it.

Has anyone seen Gran Torino yet?

cool. BTW in the new Want Ad they got one of those 10-shot H&K .45 carbines you've been drooling over for $1800.

just for the record i'm going to say this ONCE... an M1 Carbine can do the job better

strikeforce629
01-18-2009, 07:43 PM
Never said it couldnt.
as we discussed, for the same length, it would certainly be a smarter choice to go with the M1 Carbine.

Hell yeah. Damn good. I had the M1 carbine vs. Enfield jungle carbine debate with someone, I wil try to find it.

I am very low on cash at the moment, but i have a pic of an M-14 in my wallet to remind me not to spend my money on stupid sh*t.

Oh yeah, very nice weapons system, the .mil had to forcefully recover the ones they issued no one wanted to give them up and the SEALs used them a lot in 'Nam as a Squad Support Weapon
