I plan on getting one before too long...

The one you looked at, did it have a wood or synthetic stock?

They are good guns - perfect for me IMHO.

Was it an actual HK or a PTR or Century CLone?

synthetic stock
i looked at it again today
i believe it was a PTR
not an actual H&K due to the fact that H&k apparently only sells to law enforcement/military and class 3 dealers in the u.s. or at least thats what the guys at the gun shop said.
either way id love to have it ,

There price seems high for a PTR, a regular one runs lik $900 or so

They are nice guns, My C91 was a great shooter, lokked like ****, but shot well

i think the reason its priced as high as it is is because its the only one in town for sale....

though i did find a dealer that sells g36's in 3bullet burst .... though seeing as how i dont have the cash to go through all the red tape surrounding a class 3 rifle i think i'll just try and put the ptr on layaway

that is not 100% true. H&K (did) import many civilian sporter models (H&K 91) into the U.S. before Bush I's import ban. They were indeed H&K's with the badges and qualities to prove it exactly like the military models with the only thing lacking was full-auto capability. They can still be found on gunbroker but they are in the $2500+ range for an original model.

You couldn't get it anyway. All automatic firearms allowed to civilians must have been made or registered before May 19, 1986. Since the G36 wasn't around in 1986 that automatically disqualifies any civilian from owning one unless it is a semi-auto conversion (to look like the real deal) from an SL-8.

Ah ok!

Yeah I want a G36 Clone myself, just dont want to spend 2K on the HK base civvie rifle, then add at least another K for the conversion etc

H&K is the best manufacturer of weapons in the world, I would love to have 1300 bucks to get that.
I have fired the SL8 and would recommend it highly for a small caliber/ close range rifle.

Have you guys seen the calico models?

pause the video and wait for it to load. I would love to get the chance to fire one of these. Real cool design, dont know about how much the bullets would stick in the mag.
Much cheaper than any H&K model.
