These people make me sick. I've run into a couple, and usually chicken out and run off when they can't answer questions correctly.

f*cking asshat.
what an attention wh*re.
I have run into a couple as well, and I just tell them to suck a bag of d*cks, and I walk away.
It'll always be like when I'm in a coffe shop with a friend discussing guns, and then this guy just chimes in with his opinion (clearly wrong) and he just keeps talking.
One guy said that he thinks that the US should switch to the AK-47 and that it would cut down on civilian casualties... WHAT???
I laughed in his face and told him to go the f*ck away.
and of course they always turn and run with their tail between their legs b/c someone saw through their lie.

Just had one of these freaks show up in this area.
Got caught when he applied for ANOTHER medal (not entitled to.)
Luckily, guys at the local VFW noticed odd statements... turned out he memorized parts/locations from MOVIES and he was only in the service for six months (wash out) in the National Guard. What an A-hole.
Good thing there's a law on the books for these nut-jobs now and he's gonna be one of the test cases.
Had another a few years ago. Attended many events with politicians and such. Claimed to be a major in the Special Forces (usually the hint. Always a black-hat, Special Forces, Seals, etc.) Someone finally noticed that a medal he was wearing was an issue from the Korean war... he was 50.

I know how it is with the net, a lot of people jump into the mix claiming a lot of things. I came from AR-15, if it's okay to post it. The site was going into a new thing and I'm just a tired old man who doesn't like change. They're a terrific bunch of men over there, I'm just set in my ways. Ol' horses kind of like to stay in the harness they're used to.

Fair enough.
The I'm a member of ARF.com too, and I only venture over there when I need to be reminded about how childish people can be.

We had one here that was fatter than hell and claimed to have been a Marine. He got found out. Later though I saw him at a gas station telling some lady he had been Special Forces in Viet Nam. I immediately told him off and made him look bad in front of a lot of people in a gas station.

Hey C_Jackson I was over at Ar-15 also. I went by SK0575 I think. They deleted my abbount form some reason though. I guess due to inactivity.

I met a ****head who did that a while ago too. Said he was in the 432nd rangers or sumething. Well I let him go on a bit 'till my dad showed up (we were at a gun show, at our camper). See, my dad was in the 432nd Civil Affairs (based here in Green Bay), and the other 432nd is an air force wing dedicated to unmanned aircraft.
This idiot had POW/MIA stickers on his truck, a "vietnam vet" hat, and combat boots.
I gotta tell you, it was quite fun sitting backwith a beer, watching my dear father toy with this poser by asking him questions he knew he wouldn't answer correctly. Man, you should've seen him sweat.

Dan F., my apologies I should have clarified. I come from AR tac 15, the other site with the normal people. Swattie remembers the site, although I wasn't aware of the inactivity thing. You're more than likely right, I came here at your invitation, remember? We missed you over there, you were one of the level-headed guys. Oh well, couple of my other buds are members here too. I recognize GDawg and another one I think is HermosaBeachGuy. If it's him, he'll know, he's Big Red One in my group of friends.

I don't have much time to do stuff on the boards much anymore. I went to AR-15 one day and tried to sign in and it said I didn't exist. Oh well. Life goes on.

I'm back, I questioned a poster claiming service, it had a poor response mainly from the site administrator on AR-15 questioning my service. Given he's a civilian, I'd been going head to head with said site owner for the last two yrs. I got fed up and decided to leave of my own accord. I've been trying to post here since I heard of it, but I kept timing out before I had a chance to post my thoughts.

Sorry, double clicked on the enter key. I feel a LOT more comfortable here knowing head admin is also a Marine. I was sent an e-mail telling me you guys were back up. Thank you, it means a lot to be able to have a little corner of the 'net where a Leatherneck can talk to another. I appreciate your patience.

It's all cool.
Seems this site has been pretty quiet lately, and I'm partly to blame as well. Now that I've moved to my new residence I'm more able to join in discussions on this forum.
